This chapter starts out with two instances of the Pharisees condemning Jesus for breaking the law. Jesus makes it clear to the Pharisees that the law isn't meant to be used the way they are using it. They are missing the whole point. They are legalistic , selfish, and self-serving. They would help their sheep out of a pit on the Sabbath...but deny a man being healed?
Jesus then drives out a demon from a demon possessed man. The Pharisees say he is from Satan. Jesus explains to them that Satan wouldn't drive out one of his demons...he is from God not Satan. He then goes on to tell them that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgiveable.
Jesus then goes on to predict his death, burial and resurrection.
He also let them know that those that follow him are his true family. We are the family of God! What refreshing thoughts.
