In His Word Wednesday

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Although with each day we grow older and our bodies are slowly breaking down...we have hope! Even though this life brings us trials and troubles of various varieties...we have hope! We can confidently face all that comes our way, knowing that we are being renewed and will one day be with our savior. With each new day I can see God molding and changing me into the woman he wants me to be. As I was reading this the lyrics of Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus kept running through my head.

Words & Music: Helen H. Lemmel, 1922

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!
