Staycation - Days 2 & 3

Day 2 of our staycation we visited the town of Shipshewana.  We went to the Menno-hof museum, which describes the history of the Mennonites and Amish.   Although it was a guided tour and geared toward adults, the kids did very well and really enjoyed it.

Then we had JoJo's pretzels for lunch.

Then, we visited some shops.  We concluded the day by visiting the cheese house and buying some cheese for supper.   The bacon cheese was a favorite!

Day 3, we drove to the dunes.  We spent several hours at the beach.  Then we found a picnic area that had a playground and ate and played.   I think my kids are the only kids in the world who are more excited about a playground than anything else, LOL.   I think we could have just traveled to a different playground every day and they would have been happy.

Then, we did some hiking.   All of us climbed to the peak of the third highest dune.  Aaron, Rachel and Caleb continued on the trail to the peak of the second highest dune.  I took an easier trail back with the rest of the kids, where we hung out at the nature center while waiting for the trailblazers to return.

The kids have all agreed that they are having a lot of fun!  I guess thats all that matters.
