For Bible, we are reading through various books of the bible each morning and working on memorizing verses.  I will also be reading aloud different books throughout the year.  We're hoping to get in Art projects and lessons, and some composer studies this year.  Caleb and Joe will continue with guitar, and Caleb is planning to learn to play bass.

This week we started reading through Matthew together.  We read the first five chapters of The House at Pooh Corner.  Caleb and Joe both read the first half of The View from Saturday.  Rachel and Jada both read the first half of  Charlotte's Web.   We learned what history is and about archaeology, having our own dig.   We read Archaeologists Dig For Clues.  They also worked on making their own family history and interviewed me and their dad.  In science, the girls learned about light and did several experiments with flashlights.  Joe learned about cells.  Caleb learned about what Physical Science is and the Scientific Method.

Our dig. I buried things from around the house earlier in the week, and they used an old screen to sift through the dirt.  They didn't enjoy it as much as I thought they would ... in fact they never did find the toothbrush I buried, LOL.

Sarah did a couple of fun activities this week.

This first one is a make your own cupcake felt kit.  I found the pattern at Money Saving Mom.  I think my older girls like it as much as she does!

Here Sarah is matching colors using paint chips.  One piece is glued to a clothespin, then she has to match it to another.
